Get to know Debbie:
I was born in Canton, OH and grew up in North Canton, graduating from North Canton Hoover High School in 1980. I relocated to Portage Lakes (Akron) when I married my husband Bob in 2015. He is a Coventry Township Firefighter. I have 3 children from a previous marriage, Rachael, Zach and Leah, and two step-children, Justin and Ashley.
I wasn’t always in the insurance industry. I have worked in a Doctor’s office, a Real Estate office and at a bank all before starting my career at Pat Joyce Insurance Agency in 1985. I got married in 1986 and left PJI in 1992 to raise my children. After my divorce I returned to PJI in 2011 and have been here ever since as the Commercial Lines CSR. I currently hold an Ohio Property & Casualty and Life & Health license. I enjoy the small office environment of PJI and our “family-like” atmosphere. It makes coming to work every day very easy. I also enjoy my Commercial clients. I have known some of them since my early years at PJI, which I feel is a true testament of how our agency shows our commitment to our clients by providing excellent customer service.
When I am not working you can find me enjoying time spent on our pontoon boat cruising the Portage Lakes with friends and family, when it’s warm of course. I also enjoy traveling. My husband Bob and I have been on four cruises in the last five years. One of my favorite destinations was Puerto Rico. In the Fall and Winter months I enjoy watching my daughter Leah play High School and Club volleyball. Someday, when Bob & I retire we hope to move to somewhere warm so that we can use our boat all year round.
